Project Description
Structural engineering design for an all new cold-rolling facility located in Calvert, Alabama. The cold-rolling facility consists of a coupled pickling/ tandem mill capable of producing 2.5 million tons of cold strip a year, plus a continuous pickling line with a skin pass mill and a slitting line. Facility is part of a $11.8 billion expansion into the North and South American Markets. A 3500-acre carbon and stainless-steel processing complex which includes a melt shop, hot strip mill, cold rolling mill, continuous galvanizing line and continuous annealing line with a capacity of producing over 5 million tons of steel per year.
Scope of Work
Includes complete design for the following:
- Structural steel framing for all new mill buildings and coil storage buildings with multiple EOT cranes in each. 
- Foundations for all mill buildings and all equipment including all associated substructures, basements, and auxiliary facilities. 
- Over 1000 FT of heavily surcharged tunnels supporting multiple gantry cranes and coil carriers.
