About HOH Group
Engineering Innovation, Continuing to Provide
Exceptional Service
Since
its founding in 1959, the HOH Group has been serving
the needs of industry and government of Greater
Chicago and abroad. HOH has grown into the HOH Group
of engineering and technology companies and
celebrates a half century of innovation and
commerce. These segments evolved to include
environmental, transportation, process, machine
design, and construction management.
"We
approach 50 as middle age when you're in the highest
gear in terms of leadership and performance," says
Harry O. Hefter, chairman of the company. "Though in
a world where many companies are swallowed by either
failure or merger, our longevity makes us a
granddaddy in the engineering industry." Indeed, HOH
has been through much in its nearly five decades.
Four times it was selected by the National Society
of Professional Engineers (NSPE) as having one of
the year's "Ten Outstanding Engineering Achievements
in the United States."
In 1985, HOH was selected as
one of eight firms representing the U.S. government
on President Reagan's Executive Trade Mission on
Steel making to the Peoples Republic of China, the
third leg of his technological exchange program.
Renowned for its contribution to the steel industry,
HOH has innovated ways to control steel making
processes through computers that helped heavy
industry transition into high technology. HOH spun
off Milltech-HOH into Neural Applications
Corporation, whose technology also powers super site
Stockpoint.com (which Neural acquired in 1997),
rated by Barron's in October 1998 as one of the Top
investment Web sites on the Internet.
The HOH Group,
established in the middle of the 20th century and
now an industry leader, is engaged in
next-millennium thinking and innovating. |
